The Illinois District NMI Council met last night and elected a new NMI President. We are excited to introduce you to Mr. Dan Reinhart as the new NMI leader on our district.
Here is a brief bio to introduce him to our district.
As a layman Dan worked in IT, including 4 years in the US Marine Corps, from the late 60s until his early retirement in 2003. With his best friend, co-worker and supportive wife, Janet, they call Columbia, Illinois home and are active members of Belleville First.
Dan has served on local church boards for much of his adult life including as board secretary at Springfield 1st in part of the 1980s.
Dan has been involved in the NYI Bible Quiz Ministry since the early 1970s serving as a local coach, and District BQ director on both Illinois and Missouri districts. He was the Olivet Regional BQ director in the early 1990s and has been serving as the Global NYI BQ ministry trainer since 2005.
He and Janet have been Mission Corps volunteers since 2006, serving in most of the global regions offices and several fields. Since 2013 he has also been involved in the work of the Global Mission IT team supporting missionaries around the world. Recently, they have been asked to participate, as volunteers, in the training and ongoing support of some new missionary finance tools that are about to be introduced.
Today’s Testimony – We have been blessed in God’s retirement planning for us with a variety of rich experiences. He has revealed in us an appreciation for the cultural diversity in His work around the world. The result is a growing passion to help our local congregations recognize the truly global family we are a part of.
Our life verse in God’s retirement…
God’s Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go! This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave- tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” Romans 8:14-15 MSG
