As summer winds down (although the heat does not know that yet) and fall activities begin, a variety of feelings emerge from excitement to fear. Whatever they may be I believe God has placed all of us here in this district family “for such a time as this”. God is going before us, working to move mountains. His desire is for you, your family, your neighbors, and those you will meet to come to a personal relationship with him. I am excited to see what God is going to do in our lives and through us in southern Illinois.

  • Let’s pray—seek Him and his direction.
  • Let’s read his word—read the gospels.
  • Let’s be prepared—take advantage of the opportunities God presents to us.
    • Let’s be like Jesus.

Did You Know?
In July, Pastors from 46 of our churches reported:

  • 26 conversions.
  • 11 baptisms.
  • 11 new Nazarenes.

Our Hispanic churches bring together people from 14 nations: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Puerto Rico, Mexico, USA, Venezuela.

In addition to Spanish, Portuguese and English, 6 dialects are spoken: Chuj, Canjobal, Criollo frances, Tzotzil, Tzental and Zapoteco.

Arcola Hispanic purchased a new building with the help of Alabaster Funds (Your Alabaster offerings at work), local church sacrifice and offerings, our Hispanic funds, and the district. Congratulations to Pastor Waldemar and the congregation. They are excited and are already seeing God work to bring more new people into the community of faith. Their average attendance for July was 150.
