Great start with praise and worship with the CTR praise band leading and the a strong message by Tone Marshall challenging the students with what it means to Belong to God.
So appreciative of every sponsor/counselor who has given up their week to serve at youth camp. I love that we have pastors who have joined us this week. Thank you David Hater, Randy Wright, Christen Piatt, Ben Alexander, Cory Swinderman, Greg Breeden, and Michael Flowers. These lead pastors are investing in their students – students will listen better to a preacher who has spent time with them in the week.
Great to have our Associate pastors – many serving as youth pastors – Jenn, Jeremy, Ryan, Beau and James.
Small groups are an important element of the spiritual development at Youth Camp.
Rick, is challenging them to know how to Defend their Faith. It is so important to know what we believe and why.
There always seems to be something special on the last night of youth camp. And 2023 was no different. Tone’s final message and challenge was anointed by God and the students seemed to be in tune with the message. We do not belong to this world, our home is in heaven but until we get home we must live in our present world and be a light in the darkness, bringing hope to the hopeless.
And then, we journeyed to the cross. In silence, students and adults walked to the amphitheater where we sit looking at a cross and out over the lake – a beautiful sight. How wonderful it is to be in God’s tabernacle of creation. Everyone was challenged to prepare their heart and mind to participate in the sacrament of communion. Prayers were prayed, forgiveness was extended, there was healing – spiritual and emotional. God is so good.

Plans are already in the works for many to be a part of Illinois District NYI youth camp at Camp Table Rock, June 24-28, 2024!
Friday morning of camp – some still have energy; the Word of God is powerful; lives have been transformed; hope has a name, His name is Jesus.
A great week that created many memories, new friends and a greater determination to BELONG!
