Lay Retreat 2022! Wow what challenging sermons were brought to us by Dr Kim Smith! Worship in music by Tom Garrison Friday night, Saturday and Sunday with Jeremy and Bethany Martin. Great food prepared by Pinecrest Campground along with the beauty of the grounds there. Also, so good to have fellowship with good people!

Is our life defined by the mess around us or the mission within us?
The only thing I can control in my mess is the direction I look – in our mess we must Refocus.
To move from mess to mission, we must Reorient our life…..
To move from mess to mission, we must Repent…. Then God comes! Holy Fire from God consumes our mess and He brings Renewal. Renewal brings Recalibration that leads us to God’s mission.

What does it mean to follow Jesus?
Jesus makes the expectations clear – deny yourself, take up the cross, and follow.
Jesus ate with sinners – Matthew, Zachaeus……
When we follow Jesus, He will take us into the mission field – the crowd, helpless and harassed, people like sheep without a shepherd.
When we follow Jesus, we must journey with our eyes wide open. Needy people are everywhere when your eyes are wide-open.
When we follow Jesus we see the people and we have ‘compassion’ on them. NON-JUDGEMENTAL COMPASSION on the people we see.
